SISU Thunderbirds Set to Compete in 2024 SHOW League Championship

The SISU Thunderbirds 18U AA, 16U AA, and 14U AA teams are set to showcase their skills at the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) 2024 SHOW League Championship in Detroit. The event, scheduled from January 17-20, will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings Arena in Troy and Suburban Ice in Rochester, Michigan.


The 18U SISU Thunderbirds, led by coach Tom Latvala, are determined to improve on their Silver Division runner-up finish from last season. The 16U team, coached by Jeff Waselko, has faced numerous injuries during the first two NAPHL events but is aiming for a strong playoff performance. This year marks the debut of the 14U division for the club, with coach Chris Watts guiding the team to a solid showing at the NAPHL event in Boston earlier this season. The 14U AA team is eager to compete against top-tier opponents in the playoffs.

18U Division

Silver Division: 14 teams in one bracket. Each team will play three round-robin games, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals. Remaining teams will compete in consolation games.


16U Division

Silver Division: Two brackets of four teams. Each team will play three round-robin games, with the top two teams in each bracket advancing to the semifinals. Remaining teams will play a fourth consolation game.


14U Division

10 teams in a single bracket. Teams will play three round-robin games, with the top four teams advancing to the semifinals and subsequently the championship. Remaining teams will compete in consolation games.


The SHOW League Championship runs alongside the NA3HL Tender Distribution, offering players a unique opportunity to gain recognition and advancement within the NA3HL and the NAHL Development Ladder. This event promises an action-packed weekend filled with high-level competition, talent, and opportunities for players to impress scouts and coaches.
