The SISU Thunderbirds Hockey Club is committed to helping student-athletes achieve their goals—on the ice, in the classroom, and beyond. Our College Prep Program is designed for families and players seeking guidance and support throughout the college hockey recruitment process and transition into higher levels of play.

Preparing for the Next Level

We understand that the college hockey landscape is competitive and complex. Our mission is to help players navigate this process with confidence, character, and clarity.

The program includes guidance in areas such as:

• Academic readiness – Monitoring GPA, course load, and core requirements
• NCAA & ACHA eligibility – Understanding compliance and clearinghouse steps
• Highlight reels and hockey résumés – Showcasing player performance effectively
• Communication with coaches – Email templates, best practices, and timelines
• Recruitment strategy – Finding the right school and hockey fit
• Leadership and character development – Becoming a well-rounded student-athlete

We also educate players and families on important aspects of college preparation, including:

• The difference between NCAA and ACHA hockey
• The recruitment timelines and what to expect
• How to balance academic priorities with hockey commitments
• Mental performance training and life skills for independence and maturity
