Center Ice Scholarship
Center Ice Foundation Scholarship
SISU Thunderbirds Hockey Club has partnered with Center Ice Foundation to offer scholarship opportunities in our effort to make youth hockey more accessible to participants who demonstrate a financial need. The Center Ice Foundation Hockey scholarship is funded by contributions and through future events as planned by Center Ice Foundation Board. SISU Thunderbirds Hockey Club encourages families who feel they need assistance with regular season hockey fees to apply.
CENTER ICE SPORTSPLEX
Center Ice Foundation is also currently developing a Central Ohio health, wellness, sports & recreation district, providing access to sports facilities in a currently underserved community. In addition to 2 sheets of ice (the first in the region to be adaptive sports-enabled), the project includes an indoor turf field house, and sports entrepreneur incubation space. Adjacent will be a multi-specialty medical office, restaurant & retail, and other ancillary and symbiotic uses.
Projects like ours are economic development & tourism drivers and recreational amenities to support a healthy community. But communities don’t generally support tax levies as a funding mechanism. In addition to a generous land donation from the City of Reynoldsburg, our capital stack includes a number of different components: corporate & grassroots philanthropic support via an aggressive capital campaign, unique public funding mechanisms, and traditional commercial lending. Our business plan & pro forma show cashflow positivity as early as year 2.
