
SISU Thunderbirds Announce Damien Carter’s Commitment to Hiram College
The SISU Thunderbirds College Prep program proudly announces that Damien Carter has committed to Hiram College to play NCAA Division III hockey. As a standout 2005 post-graduate goaltender, Damien’s exceptional technical footwork and ability to make critical saves in high-pressure situations have distinguished him as a key player this season.
"I am beyond excited to further my education and continue playing hockey at Hiram College,” Damien shared. “I would especially like to thank Coach Curto for this opportunity, as well as my family, coaches, and teammates who have supported me every step of the way. Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to my coach Justin Cohn and General Manager David Dew for making this possibility a reality."
David Dew expressed his pride in Damien’s achievements, stating, "Damien was recruited with NCAA placement in mind as a standout 2005 post-graduate goaltender, known for his exceptional technical footwork. His performance has attracted interest from numerous schools and Tier 2 junior programs. Damien’s ability to make critical saves in high-pressure situations has played a pivotal role in his successful season and eventual NCAA commitment. We are incredibly proud of Damien and would like to extend our congratulations to him and his entire family. A special thank you to Coach Curto for yet another successful collaboration.”
Head Coach Justin Cohn also shared his thoughts, saying, "Damien has been the backbone of our team, giving us a chance to win every time he's in net. His personality and work ethic were invaluable in our first year and will be just as important in Hiram’s inaugural season. He’s worked hard for this opportunity, and he deserves it—congratulations, Damien! I'm excited to see him continue his career with Coach Curto at the NCAA level."
